Building Project for Local Wounded Marine

A local wounded Marine is coming home for the holidays. Lance Corporal Jedidiah Morgan, 22, was injured in an IED explosion in Afghanistan on June 21. He was stationed with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, out of Twentynine Palms, Calif. The Marine's legs were amputated and he sustained several other injuries. He spent 12 weeks at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he received the Purple Heart. Lance Corporal Morgan was recently transferred to San Diego for further treatment and therapy.

Jed is a 2008 graduate of Liberty High School and he also attended Pikes Peak Community College before entering the Marines in 2009. On December 17, 2011, he married Anna Morgan and three months later was deployed to Afghanistan.

Jed's parents live here in Colorado Springs and they want to bring their son home to celebrate the holidays. Their tri-level home is not workable with Jed's disability, so renovations are underway to add a bedroom and handicap accessible bathroom to their home. With help from the Semper FI Foundation and local contributions, they hope to have the renovations complete before Thanksgiving.

Romans 12:1-2

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 8:28

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Isaiah 55:9

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Romans 11:36

For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.
