AWANA
The name AWANA is derived from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). To produce such approved workmen, AWANA has carefully selected Bible verses to be memorized, and scripture portions are taught to prove doctrinal truths. AWANA is a Bible-centered, youth-oriented club program. Three segments provide growing opportunities:
- Game Time. A unique time to learn Christian sportsmanship and ethics, and a chance to let off steam and have fun.
- Handbook Time. An achievement-oriented learning segment where clubbers progress through grade appropriate handbooks, working individually and together with their leader.
- Council Time. A general session for group Bible study, followed by awards and recognition for individual handbook progress.
