What is AWANA?

 

The name AWANA is derived from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). To produce such approved workmen, AWANA has carefully selected Bible verses to be memorized, and scripture portions are taught to prove doctrinal truths.

 

 

AWANA is a Bible-centered, youth-oriented club program. Three segments provide growing opportunities:

  • Game Time. A unique time to learn Christian sportsmanship and ethics, and a chance to let off steam and have fun.

  • Handbook Time. An achievement-oriented learning segment where clubbers progress through grade appropriate handbooks, working individually and together with their leader.

  • Council Time. A general session for group Bible study, followed by awards and recognition for individual handbook progress.

Club meetings are carefully organized according to ages and school grades to provide maximum interest and activities for everyone:

* Cubbies must be 3 years old by July 1, 2007.
** Sparks must be 5 years old by July 1, 2007.
